As the search to discover the toast of the Northern Ireland licensed trade continues Pubs of Ulster, the representative body for the licensed trade in Northern Ireland, has officially revealed the host of its prestigious 2014 Pub of the Year Awards.

With less than one month before entries close, Cool FM breakfast show host, Pete Snodden has been named as the compere of the glitzy awards night, which will be held on Wednesday 12th November 2014 at La Mon Hotel and Country Club.

November is set to be a busy month for Pete, following the recent announcement that he is set to become a dad for the second time during that month.

Commenting on the 2014 Awards, host, Pete Snodden, said:There’s going to be lots to raise a toast to this November and I look forward to kicking of my personal celebrations with a toast to all that is great about the Northern Ireland pub trade.

“I am really looking forward to the Pub of the Year Awards – it’s set to be a fantastic night and I’m honoured to be chosen to reveal who will be crowned the best in the business.”

This year, Pubs of Ulster, is calling on licensees across the province to enter a record 10 categories that have been designed to highlight the very best that the industry has to offer: Best Barperson (in partnership with the Sunday Life); Best Entertainment; Best Food; Best New or Improved; Best Marketing Idea; Best Charity Event; Best Big Idea, Best Hotel Bar, Best Ulster Pub Week event and the ultimate award - Pub of the Year 2014.

Commenting on the Pub of the Year Awards 2014, Mark Stewart, chairman of Pubs of Ulster, said:  “The Pub of the Year Awards are hotly contested each year and the standard of entries just keeps getting higher.

“We have some of the best pubs in the world right on our doorstep, so I am not surprised that the entries have been coming in thick and fast, as pubs vie to have their hard work recognised. There are still a few weeks left for even more of our local pubs to enter and I would encourage all publicans across Northern Ireland to get involved.

“Pubs of Ulster’s Pub of the Year Awards recognise and showcase those pubs that push the boundaries to make our industry world famous.”
