The nominations for the 2014 Oscars have been revealed with American Hustle and Gravity proving the biggest pull with 10 nods each.

Steve McQueen's critically lauded 12 Years A Slave follows closely behind nine prestigious nominations.

All three films will battle it out for the biggest award of the night, Best Picture, alongside Dallas Buyers Club, Captain Phillips, Her, Nebraska, Philomena and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, the 86th Academy Awards take place at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday 2nd March.
